However, Popeye discovers that he can gain incredible strength by eating spinach, which he carries in his pipe. He uses his spinach power to fight off Bluto's men and save Olive from danger.
Meanwhile, Popeye learns that his father may still be alive and that he is the legendary sailor known as the Sea Hag. He decides to go on a quest to find him, with Olive, Wimpy, Geezil, and Swee'Pea, a baby boy that Popeye found abandoned in a basket, joining him.
